It's always a literal pleasure when Art stops by. We always have a nice back and forth when he does and I'm always better for it. Hell, he's sent me actual christmas cards before (not a thing to do with the cards I go on too much about here).
Congratulations!! I love cards but I love my daughters more. I hope you all have a wonderful time. Had one daughter married in 24 and the last in 25. I'm done. May they be blessed with a wonderful life and you with grandkids.
That was Art's response to me begging for some additional time to get this deal out the door because lulu was getting married and I was falling behind.
Okay, that was only some of it. Some things remain amongst friends.
As for the cards themselves:
First of all, not many stop by these parts for some 1989 Topps, which means Art is my kind of sicko. Next of all, he's my bestest giants correspondent. Last of all, I just learned that Art has a little hockey crush too. This was confirmed by visiting his profile page and checking out his favorite teams.
All of this to say, he's why I do this. Be it write down my day or trading cards with friends that I almost assuredly will never meet.
There's always light on the other side.
We'll close the deals for today with my bestest pen pal, Art. He sent a note along with the deal and got nikkigirl a little bit teary eyed. Ok, a lotta bit teary eyed. She has big feelings, you see.
Art's been underselling this deal, saying it's a bit underwhelming, and I do not agree! Some highlights:
- This 1972 Topps #77 Ron Theobald is now my oldest brewers card
- There were a bunch of additional rookie cards in there
- A bonus nolan ryan
- Plus, we love any and all bucks that show up
Really though, Art is a class act and he never disappoints.
