Sectionals
Team overall record: 2-1
Oct 23, 2026: Day 1 (original post)
Wait, it is Sectionals already? It's Friday? Same night as Game One of the World Series? It was about point thirteen when I realized......
Yup, that point thirteen.

And then there's always the doggers (when available).
The point I was trying to make is that it didn't dawn on me until tonight that it might be noah's last volleyball match of his final (senior) season. Life comes at you fast as they say.
In the first sectionals match our #4 seeded terrors would have been pretty decent favorites against the ghosts, but with our first team hitter out with an injury, it was anything but guaranteed this wouldn't be jeff meff's final match. It wasn't looking good when we lost the first set 28-30......
After stubbing their toe in the first set they picked up the ball and put it on them. We controlled the tempo to a relatively easy 3-1 win without our biggest hitter. Will he play Tuesday against neenah, at neenah? It'll need to be all hands on deck if we are to have a shot against our toughest opponent all season.
The coolest part of the night wasn't me getting one more shot at another game to help me process how fast life gets away from you, instead it was the roster that showed up to support:
The fact that the nuclear reactor squad all wandered, unplanned, into the same place to support our hometown hero is......good.
Shouts to garrett, who we (he and I) believe the terrors to be undefeated when in his presence. Might be 5 or 6 and 0 at this point. I'm also old and losing my mind so it might be a wilt scored a hundred once type myth.
Oct 27, 2026: Day 2 (original post)
There's no way I could tell this story tonight to give it the emotional impact it deserves. Like, I almost didn't even consider the possibility of victory tonight.
What's higher than cloud nine? 'Round these parts it is called cloud eleventy.
Like......did......we......actually......
......can't skip steps though......

We went into Neenah, with Neenah being undefeated this season, and straight up took it from them. Punked.
noah and the terrors ripped their hearts out.
Oophs. Another one of these dumb jokes? Maybe one day this guy typing the words to you will get over the lamest of lame jokes from a current generation.

In full recap: our friends walked into Neenah, and punked Neenah on their own home court to advance into the sectional finals against Kimberly. We had no business winning and we fucking took it from them. Soul snatching.
You'll note the lack of quality of the photos I took today (if you are sharp of mind, lol) and I am here to tell you that I had so much fun tonight, the chronicles were the least of my worries.
I would hug noah ray for the rest of my life to hold onto this moment.
Proud dad.
Oh, almost forgot this guy was shredding the national anthem tonight.

Spoiler alert: It didn't work out for noah ray the terrors today.
Spoiler alert: I didn't take any action photos today. I was locked in and there were a lot of special guests today.
Spoiler alert: That's the last lame 67 joke of mr. meff's high school career.

Spoiler alert: I might never be in the same room with this exact squad ever again. Friends & family showed out today. Today's squad:
Spoiler alert: I could not be more proud of this dude and his teammates. They fought like hell to the very last point. He fought like hell to the very last point.
This particular path on our shared adventure has come to an end.
