After putzing around with a few things, I set off to my favorite mailbox to drop off today's mail. Like for real, it's my favorite mailbox:
I was literally snapping this photo when
eeeeeeeemma called for her mid-day phone call. We chatted a
bit about the book I gave her, the anxiety and depression triggers class she
just took, and about her wanting to talk with the doctor about being released.
Doc was currently in the middle of rounds and
eeeeeeeemma was up soon.
She also told me that I'm a pretty chill bro, bro.

Before we transition to the star of today's show, daddy kane in this context could be considered daddy(me) and kane(sugar) fitting into this metaphor: eeeeeeeemma will need some sugar (daddy kane) to help the (figurative) medicine go down. I'm on the what if prescription drugs weren't the only thing we tried side of the isle, and I will use my all of my alchemist skills to assist eeeeeeeemma along her journey from here.
We had our family meeting today, and it was awkward and uncomfortable for all involved. I'd guess that eeeeeeeemma is released tomorrow or Wednesday.
Would it suprise you to learn that one hand has no idea what the other is doing within a broken system? At least this system isn't my fault.
eeeeeeeemma continues to do well. We see her every day and talk at least one more time on the phone. Plus, I won at scrabble today.
I didn't sleep well last night - mostly because I had two glasses of wine and when I do, there's a decent chance I'll be awake at 3am with little to do about it. Even if I don't drink there's a 1 in 5 chance that I'm up at 3 and starting my day.
Enough whinging.
nikkigirl and I walked to St. E's today to visit eeeeeeeemma and because of my lack of sleep, I was kind of a dick about it. She also won at scrabble during our hospital visit so it's possible that a divorce may be imminent. There was cheating and terrible strategy by other players so I won't be acknowledging this as a defeat.
All in all we ended up walking just shy of 8 miles here and there. We got some breakfast, visited at the hospital, stopped at a used book store, then a bookbar, and then headed home. It was a productive day.
I just got off the phone with eeeeeeeemma for our evening call and she is doing well. She's reading a book that I gave her and I think she's actually enjoying it. Good job, dad.

I've had a minecraft creeper t-shirt since I first started playing the game....I'll guess 15 years ago.
Anywho, nikkigirl has hated this shirt since day one and always chirps about how ugly it is, but most importantly, how much it just looks like a penis. That's all I needed to place this as the GOAT of t-shirts.
It's barely a t-shirt anymore.
But you know, sharing a URL that included \lego-penis just didn't feel right. So instead, I'll just say penis here instead. Penis, penis, penis, and penis. Love 'em or hate 'em. Penis.
Besides poking momma bear - I'm actually here to share a fun gift lulu got me for my birthday. She got me a lego penis, aka the creeper, and to give myself a break from the "requirements" of mailing cards, or building a website, or the other things that I'd consider work during unemployment, I've started to play with legos again.
In the past few years I avoided legos since I built the '89 batmobile because that's nikkigirl's thing and my card collecting really took off. Well no more! Enter minecraft.
The star of today's show though? lego penis and his little pig friend:
After all of that building, I went around the house to find all his best buddies and made myself a minecraft sanctuary:
All that to say, I'm back in on minecraft and the last big mission I'm giving myself before returning to work is to figure out how to hack minecraft onto my steam deck so I can start playing the actual game again. I bet I've got another 3000 hours of it in me still.

For those who may not be aware, this is why I wear bracelets that eeeeeeeemma made me 24/7.
A few have broken over the years, but these have lasted quite awhile. Two she made me, and the third was given to her by the dad of the house she spent time with in Spain.
I told her that if she ever needed me, we can communicate through our bracelets, and that I will be there for her whenever she needs me.
