2-0 milwaukee brewers! Let's not deploy before we note that bit.
I mighta been sayin' I think this is the year.
If you are reading this that means I successfully deployed this beast. It also means you know the brew crew pulled off a Game 1 victory against the dodgers!
Shouts to ron, joe, and mr. allen who got to see a hell of a victory.
1-0, good guys.
While we will close with everything I fought with the robot about, there was still card stuffs. Always card stuffs:
As the great re-org continues, whenever I am required to go through my bledsoe cards, I am reminded just how stacked my collection of him is. Autographs, memorabilia, and numbered cards (especially low ones).
I now you are just as excited as I am about that.
We're entering the bottom of the eighth and it's looking good for ya bois while I am about to expire. Wrote the rest before the game ended with my glass half-full hat on.
Bring on the dodgers.
3-1, good guys.
PS......I deployed this before the game ended.
It's getting late folks and the brew crew is down one with five outs left. Eek, four outs left.
I'm getting sleepy.
Well, shit.
2-1 good guys.
Hey, hey! Another great W by our milwaukee brewers. It was tense, it came down the literal end, and honey nut chourio came through in the clutch.
Hell of a game.
2-0, good guys.
Well, here we have some good news to close with. the crew pulled out a victory - and in a game where misiorowski didn't even pitch all that well. Plus, a weird almost home run break went their way and further bolsters my confidence that we are due.
NLDS: 1-0
So, the miz started off this championship run by the brew crew with back-to-back 105 MPH fastballs. Just sick.
Going into the bottom half of the first of game one, I'm feeling pretty confident.
Saturday mornings are probably my favorite single point on the weekly calendar. While this is partially dependent on what that days schedule entails - early morning travel may ruin said vibe - I can generally expect the greatest amount of pure me time on Saturday mornings. Let's grab a cup of coffee and finish off the trade I started to process yesterday.
Of note particular note here: as ideas evolve old supplies or creations become obsolete and unusable in the next idea, they often sit waiting in a pile somewhere. The images above are good examples of this and while I could explain to the the entire adventure, I literally don't have time for that.
Fun deal that moved the needle forward on a variety of interesting fronts.
Instead of agreeing to new deals (the pull remains strong), I would prefer to process incoming deals to close the year instead.
We resume that adventure with a decent sized deal sitting in my please come and get me box.
I didn't get far before the night started to swallow me whole. We'll get back to the fun tomorrow. Promise.
Even when I am not trading, I'm pretty much always trading. My first deal with Andrew is the last deal out there with an agreement though. There's a few others that could pop, but honestly, I kinda hope they don't. 🫠
I proposed the deal and I don't remember what the return is anymore. That's one of the fun parts of trading - there's the initial fun of creating or accepting a deal, and then there's opening the deal and remembering what was in it all over again.
A diverse three sport deal was born.
As you may know, there is no rest for the wicked and we are back to the grind of it.
Phew. It's getting late so you will have to take the long story short version......
I closed out Epic WU-8, which if you remember from yesterday is over a thousand tasks ago. I probably started these binders close to 3 years ago, and while they are never "done", the bulk of this particular mission is completed.
Completed enough to close this chapter at least.
Shouts to a 2020-21 champion and my favorite squad and the nearly four thousand cards in those binders.
Let's get back to the MAIN goal and the most forward looking portion of the great re-org. I should probably break down exactly what that looks like at some point, but......not today folks. Gotta get to rubbing some cards.
Before I got to the cards bit though, I did a fair amount of work updating my project plan, and I am up to task number WU-1053 as well as more organized on the 109 open items that remain from that list. I jumped over 1k roughly two weeks ago. Thousands of interwoven thoughts/ideas/actions/feelings built into this thing you are reading here. That's a lot.
As for the cards of it, yo:
I return back to the great cardboard aventure trying to continue the progress being made on box GIANNIS-FOUR-LYFE (my fourth giannis box). What follows is that continued adventure:
As noted above, I spiraled into a dark place very quickly tonight. It caught me very much off-guard. You know what's the most AMERICA thing I could do to attack a strong bout of sadness? Retail therapy!
I recently mentioned that I have a should-I-buy-a-box-of-cards algorithm and a bit of the algo includes, do I already have a box of it? If yes, I can open what I buy. If no, I have to buy TWO and at that point sheeeeeeet - I'm ballin' on a budget, kid.
Two things about the images above: first, when I go thrifting, I keep my eyes open and on the lookout for cute backpacks. Backpacks make good containers for random cards. In this case, all of my unopened cards from the 2025-26 basketball season are in this backpack. What's inside means that anytime I see these card boxes again, maybe I should buy them.
Today is one of those days to grind towards the end of something. Well, who am I kidding? It's not the end, but it's at least a big enough checkpoint, it kinda feels like the end. Let's start with a revolution:
We were up at 4am today and even then, I found twenty minutes of card sorting time in between chores and us leaving. The majority of the work took place when we got home.
Well look at that cute little creation from almost three years ago. Sometimes I forget just how long some of these ideas have been floating in my crazy little head. I was so precious at some point, I thought I would have the time to do this kind of crap all the time.
Card stuffs:
In an ice breaker earlier this week, my weird fact was quoting some card count stats, and at the numbers I toss out, it can be fairly impressive to hear. You did what, with what now?
Which is to say if I am going to use card collecting to help me take over the world, I better get back to it tonight. Here's what back to it looked like:
Let's make a quick pitstop with getting some of the homies fully onboarded to the database.
Yo, happy 47th birthday to me. Sometimes I forget just how long I've been doing boring shit for. I didn't even bother to use some gay ass color on these ones (until today with that sassy splash of blue).
This Recon set from the milwaukee bucks 2020-21 championship season would normally go into a binder, but these cards are a bit thicker and heavier. And I only have one basketball binder open right now. While I think they will eventually to into a binder, for now they go into box GIANNIS-FOUR-LYFE, the fourth in a line of boxes that hold the best version of this entire idea yet.
It took me about six iterations through an idea before I landed on this approach. It might take six more iterations before I like it. And then six more iterations from there until the devil takes over.
IYKYK
Shouts to jaime on the beat.
I'd love to break down the seven different ways today's cards took me on an adventure, but alas, I ain't got time for none of that bullshit. Plus, I would not want to bore my precious and delicate readers with all the nerdiest of nerd bits. The not nerdy stuff is already too nerdy.
For y'all at least.
I've started to get back into pre-planning what I'm going to do on any given week using a process where the current activity feeds the future activity.
And then when I have a good (enough) plan in place, I like to change up the arbritrary rules and try some shit along the way.
This chart though? It shows you I am booked on loading tcdb trades here into December. It is well past that, but today's adventure just hasn't crossed path with tomorrow's adventure yet.
I'd love to tell you more should you be interested enough to ask.
I call that minecraft backpack BACKPACK-CAPTURE-THE-FLAGG because there are multiple backpacks and all of the cards inside of this one are a chance to hit some cooper flagg cards. And they will sit unopened - hopefully until long after I have been absorbed back into the universe and in whomever comes in to clean up after my mess. For the right person, this will be quite the adventure.
And would you look at that! A capture the flagg hit inside a couple of cellos. Automatic victory is declared.
Tonight ended up being an unintentionally Minnesota evening and because of that, shouts to cal & the lazer, aden, ron, amber, marina, and david.
Both batches of cards scored me a teensy bit of fake joy. The American Way.
I like to chirp that I'd join this revolution or that revolution and the truth of the matter is that I'm much more likely to be in my basement playing at revolution. lulz
Shouts to the greek freak.
Wait......maybe I do. lulz
nikkigirl a little bit of a target gift card to score me a pack of junk wax era basketball cards. The goal? Chase the goat.
Record scratch, no mike. Still fun.
