I have a few advantages I use to my benefit at work......

I have a few advantages I use to my benefit at work on a consistent basis:

• I'm funny
• I'm sharp
• There's a sbreadth to my knowledge base which is uncommon
• I (often) have a ponytail

Point being, I'm memorable. With a hint of passion.

All of that to say that I'm living proof you can make yourself into something no matter where you come from. Starting today if you wanted.

Birthday parties! If you know me you know how much I love to celebrate! lulz

First off, shouts to mr. meff who couldn't make it because he has a volleyball tournament this weekend and we said no skipping practice. There are few things he enjoys more than all you can eat his favorite stuffs. A man should have a code. A man should honor that code. A man will attend practice.

Second off, you might hear some stuff that would make you blush at that table. And that's not even the worst of it from there. If you get a seat at this table I can promise you it is not something that you forget.

In a past life I had another version of this blog, now long lost to time. It was on a WordPress site that was a precursor to what you are reading today. All that to say, this is not the first time I have blogged about the song we will close the evening with.

In this past life, I remember driving somewhere - perhaps to a local card shop - and crying my eyes out to this song thinking about my family. I was inspired, wrote some shit about my squad to tell them all just how much they meant to me, and sent off a link to share my experience with those I said nice things about. I bet I have a backup of that somewhere in the cloud. I should go try to find that at some point maybe.

Anywho, I also saw the war on drugs perform this song in concert and cried to it. I've shed a tear to this song dozens of times I bet. I'm writing this section of the chronicle with this song on repeat and the feels hit me again. Misty eyed me.

If you scroll back up to see me with my squad you'll find living proof that anything can be repaired. Anything can be accepted. Everyone can be included (whether they like it or not). It's never me, always we at our table.

When I listen to this song - I promise we are almost there - I find my emotions take me different places every time it happens across my eardrums. Tonight I felt pride for a squad I help to facilitate every single day.
