Mar 16, 2026: war
Back to war with the snow.
First we attacked the driveway. Reports of between 24 and 27 total inches are beginning to trickle in - depending on where in Appleton you might sit. I can attest, it was at least 2 feet.
Later in the morning, I went at the entrance path to the house. If you count the times the kids went at it, and I went at it, I bet we took a total of 7 or 8 shifts. And that doesn't count the neighbors who showed up to borrow our driveway because they had nowhere to put a car. They also took a crack at the end of the driveway for us.
The plows didn't get to us until today, and let me tell you, they didn't leave a speck of snow in our driveway. I have no idea what magic they used, but fuck if it wasn't appreciated. From one wizard to another, I doff my cap to thee.
Hell of a storm.
War also continues on the trading card front. Whispers of thousands of cards expecting entry into tcdb drift across the plains as so much snow does across our driveway. Eager for battle, I narrow my focus to the hundreds in front of me, and get to sorting.
The way I've been calling out every keeper I come across on the hunt isn't sustainable so I'll focus on the unique entries from today.

I kinda have a thing for kids. nikkigirl doesn't like when I say things like this without additional context because it sounds creepy (she's right). This only makes me want to say them even more. We call this individual: double down jimmy.
Anywho, because of my kid fetish (topical), I was super excited for some 2006 Topps Total - Sports Illustrated for Kids to show up as I was logging cards from 2006. I've now got 22 of 25 of this insert set and because it's so close to completed, I'll probaby chase this one pretty hard to see if I can find anyone on tcdb to help close it out.

☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾 I'm not exactly thrilled with the label UI at present, but minimum viable product.
These new props streamline a few technical details that don't matter to you and will allow for a bunch of features I've been kicking around in my head for the last six months. The labels may also help you, dear reader, understand just a little bit more of whatever it is these chronicles are.
Point being, I needed a video to use as the first example, and as a non sequitor, my favorite new artist in all of the 2020's has to be waxahatchee. There's a certain hopeful dread in her that feels like home for me. Plus her voice. 💗🎤💗
