Mar 14, 2026: secret identity

Right now ya boi's robot, cipher, is off learning the best way to implement my next idea. They are going to come back and ask me 3 clarifying questions aimed at making the idea better before we generate the code itself.

While waiting for the bot to bot, we did a touch of cleanup on isle tags. There are currently 140 unique tags throughout the site, and I often forget which dumb idea I latched onto first rather than just being straightforward with it, resulting in duplicate tags. There is definitely still bad data inside that 140 somewhere, but right now it's not obvious enough to get fixed today.

Combining stream of thought with the difficulty of remembering what I've done before, without taking shortcuts, is part of the fun of this for me. If I can pull today's idea out of thin air and then attach it to yesterday's idea, independently & naturally, I might find myself approaching something you could consider contented.

Mind keeps wandering......here's the tags that were cleaned up and consolidated:

• card-&-coin
• bucks-n-six
• hali

All three of those things fall into different "types" of tags and don't be surprised if those types get interrogated further in the near future.

Speaking of independently & naturally, I have almost zero control at work. My day is many times more likely to happen to me, without my permission, than the reverse where I am able to imprint myself on the day.

That is one reason I practice building tullyelly.com using only what is immediately around me. While I absolutely think ahead and I'm prepared for what the day brings me, there's always a strong whiff of you never know. If you never know, and who amongst us knows, then taking the day as it presents itself to you can be of great advantage.

The Q&A session with cipher was successful. They helped me to make a decsion that was outside of the initial ask, and now we'll fold that decision point right into what's next.

As a secondary goal today, I'd like to get through the rest of the 2006 SP Authentic piles and get them loaded. At this point, we code, I wait, shift to cards, code is done, we code more, I wait, shift back to cards, code is done, rinse & repeat.

TL;DR: I added a new thing I'm calling Secret Identity. How cool is that? lol

Basically, I created a link from hashtags to the user profiles of the individuals that have logged into the site and commented on chronicles. Good news, everyone that has commented so far has a dedicated hashtag.

Here's how we got there:

• secret identity and tags added to database [WU-747]
• added audit fields to auth.users and dojo.tags
• refresh migration scripts
• refractor v_blog_comment view
• new secret identity view
• new comment summary by secret identity
• new tag comments endpoint
• new client-side community thread
• rechart added to repo, chart for squad created
• add some zest to PersonTag [WU-749]

PersonTag is the primary way that tags are generated, and now they are italicized, bolded, with a Great Lakes Blue font color thrown in for good measure. Within those tags are a handful of individuals that have logged in and posted comments on the site (in order of most to fewest):

• nikkigirl
• lulu
• tullyelly
• derek
• donnie
• eeeeeeeemma

It'll be hard to notice the difference on those pages if you clicked any of those links, but if you click on donnie and then scroll down until you see the comments he has posted, you will be caught up on the changes to the tags page. I'll improve the UI for this page at some point. MVP for now.

Additionally, check out squad to see the new chart I added to track who has commented the most. Scroll about half way down the page before you hit payday. Looks like this:

lulu and I agree that while nikkigirl might be leading, she violated the spirit of the competition, and that lulu is the real leader. lulz

Last but not least - if you are logged in, rather than showing your first name in the header, and your full name in the comments, it will now display your Secret Identity in all cases. Some Secret Identies are more creative than others. 😏

Before we got back to sorting, loading, and sleeving, we pieced the gum mentioned last week back together and top loaded it. Because of course I keep 35+ year old gum protected. Of course I do.

Four of the batch consisting of 30-39 showed up in the keeper pile:
