Josh will stop by every now and again (as evidenced by our sixth deal together) and scoop up some of his favorite Jewish players.
I love a good strong chase story and am glad to do my part.
I had a few larger deals I needed to get out the door before travel this week and as the last one on the list, seeing it packed up and ready for nikkigirl to take to the post......stems the anxiety tide.
Looks like my first deal with Nick. Welcome aboard! Fun deal.
Speaking of instant acceptance of offers, Rusty stops by for a quick deal number seventeen.
I just sent two immanuel quickley to the number one collector on the site.
Always glad to dish an assist to a righteous chase.
With this deal, Anthony has stepped up to help me in our fifth deal together.
There is a certain pride associated with an offer, especially a medium to large sized offer, that is accepted without counter. That goes both ways as well; I love when I can accept an offer as is.
Good clean trading.
Time for a nap lulu, it's mad phat staxx of trades and cards continued from here.
In my second deal with Ed there is quite a bit of fun baked in.
I'm also sharp enough to note that Ed is a Philly fan. Unsurprisingly enough, we've got sixers, phillies, and eagles flying out the door.
Wink.
......while working on finishing up my caped crusader binder I came up this trade I needed to finish processing.
Well look at that - it's our newest member of my personal hall of fame. The first member of the non-sport wing too boot!
Plus, these bad bois as well:
A top ten trader (by volume) being added to the hall? Fitting.
What follows are some of my favorite cards, favorite sets (completed), and favorite memories period. Plus, derek and I share plenty of batman those memories (donnie too!).
Day 2 of playing with dark knight cards led me too......
I have a large box full of unprocessed cards, which if I am being honest is dozens of unproccesed cards, but this particular box is a box I want to get to sooner rather than later. Because of this, I pivoted focus. These cards have been sitting there for months and they deserve to be logged appropriately.
As part of that adventure, two new binders were logged, born, or however you'd like to note their invention. This schema and resulting datasets are ever expanding.
I also slightly changed my binder strategy. Entire minutes of rework will result from here.
I also took a brief pitstop to open up a toy I purchased when I was in El Paso earlier this year.
As part of putting a new toy next to my other toys: check out that ugly thing missing its hair. It has no hair because fern got a hold of this bad boi awhile back and ruined it. I like to tag the shit that he's destroyed around the house as part of my ever expanding adventure.
15 years from now, I'll find something that'll spark a memory. A little bit of future joy tucked away in the present.
So here's the thing: I took nikkigirl, or more appropriately stated, nikkigirl took me to Fleet Farm and I did an in-person deal with William.
William is a good dude. Nice face-to-face handoff with a repeat customer.
Eventually, I'll log what he handed me. I wish I had more time in the day.
I was about to pack it up for the night when I saw a small three card deal with Brandon that would be a quick one to sneak in.
Well, look at that. Forgot the photo again. Our fifth deal was quick and clean all the same.
And then we have Joe show up with an offer that I accept without counter.
In our first deal, I score mad basketball for a bit of football. And damnit, forgot to snap that photo again.
Speaking of good negotiations, we have one of the first transactions between Scott and I.
While I can't remember to snap a picture of the cards to save my life lately, this was a fun deal. Scott was more than fair on this one.
Right on.
We move along to John and our third deal together.
Wait, is that jordan love heading out the door? I'll be honest here: he was listed as for trade by mistake. If John needs him though? I'm down for the cause.
Good negotiation on this one.
It's gonna be a trade heavy night because whenever I travel and can't handle cards, I can't handle not handling cards so I find trades so that I can handle cards later. Simply put: I'm behind on trades.
Let's start with Dr. Daryl and our second deal together. A bunch of junk wax era football and sprinkle of modern basketball are on exit out the door.
I can turn that into some basketball I don't already have you say? (Plus some football)
We'll close up the day with another first timer, Brad. I would have sworn we had done a deal together before, but alas, it would appear that I am wrong.
This deal too a bit to come to an agreement and I'm glad he stuck with it. Fun batch of cards. Too bad he's a duke though. lol
WTF is Santa doing here in August?
Oh no, lulu! We are going to begin the blog tonight with a bunch of card stuff. It's pretty much only card stuff. How boring, amirite?!?! lulz
The first deal to get packed up this morning was a pretty big one with Misty, our second together. Some fun sets are going to get a dent put in them when this one arrives.
Sometime in between the lame trades I put my daughter through just now and actually seeing her later in the day, I reused a Chipotle box from eeeeeeeemma's graduation party to store some cards.
It's now full of all of my unprocessed trades from tcdb. There must be a few hundred trades in there to process. Well, they are processed on tcdb, just not fully here or sorted into the right boxes quite yet.
The box was just a touch overloaded so I pulled out an old trade and processed it all proper like. Look at all that set collector progress and bonus cards too boot!
Always a surprise around every corner. This was was brought to by Tim (we've done three deals together overall).
Next up to bore lulu is Mike with our first deal together.
While I forgot to take this picture again (darn it), it was a nice and easy one to pack up and ship out.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
For whatever was left of the day, I tried to find time for project work. Starting with some more tmnt content.
I decided to retire a mask today with the help of some of the pins that I got at a chihuahuas a few months back. Remember that one?
Check out red eyes for the original post - I made that under duress.
PS......I just watched that again and realized the care bears shirt and those freak shoes I paired with it in the video was the same combo I wore to the birthday party today. What a coinkydink!
Sprinkled in throughout almost every day is me chipping away at the big re-org, one way or another. Today my binder shelving was reworked just a bit and I noticed just how old it all is. There's a 4% chance that it all comes crashing down on each other.
I finished up my bruce wayne binder and added it to this wall. 1989 (batman) through 1992 (batman returns) was probably the absolute peak of my frendship with derek to keep the recent theme alive. I have zero scientific proof, but minute-for-minute, it feels hard to top.
Perhaps the next man date can take this top spot.
Look at all those beautifully completed dark knight sets too!
The best thing that I have found for my anxiety? I pretend I'm twelve and play with trading cards. Constantly.
Well, there are other things, but my kids read this. The ones that can read at least. lulz
That one card I've got left to complete the base set has proven elusive. marvel cards are fairly hard to come buy and the pickins are slim on tcdb. eBay is a last resort that I have yet to resort to.
The chase continues.
