Apr 21, 2026: archives
I had four excellent meetings today. All four with boatloads of work on the other end of it. Each of the four collaborative, productive, and informative. Actually, now that I think about it, there were 5 of them. lol
Went for a walk on a beautiful day, and got some free lunch as the cherry on top.
I've got 10s of thousands of cards from previous trades still in their original packaging. Today, I pulled an old trade from the archives and processed it. Because I don't have both sides of the transaction to log against, I'm only loading one side of the deal (what I received) and labeling it "archives", which will then mark the deal "completed", because it already is. From there, a few other minor features were touched up, and the component was tightened up just a bit.
A fuck ton of cards need to be pulled from the archives and fully processed. Lotta work there, ugh.
Forget what's in the archives, I'm starting to fall behind on inbound trades. I love to trade, I love to build trades, I love to say yes to all trades that come across, and then before you know it I've got a giant pile of cards in a corner somewhere.
Anywho, strong offer from Joe. Lotta set collecting goodies.
- 1993-94 Ultra, basketball (263/375; 70.1%)
- 1994 Flair USA, basketball (61/120; 50.8%)
- 2006-07 Topps, basketball (92/308; 29.9%)
- 1992-93 Topps - Gold, basketball (29/396; 7.3%)
Topps Gold! Topps Gold! Topps Gold!
27 cards, all the same set? Must be back on the hunt.
- 1993-94 Fleer, basketball (386/400; 96.5%)
Oooooh, we inch closer. I might have to pivot to this set as my next set to close. The remaining 14 cards I need should be fairly abundant and have multiple trading partner options. Theoretically.
Fun!
Here's the deal we pulled out of the archives. I needed a 500 count box, and one of the trades I hadn't fully processed was in a 500 count box. Let the sorting begin.
- 1989 Topps Ghostbusters II, non-sport (77/88; 87.5%)
- 1990 Dart Beetlejuice - Glow-in-the-Dark Stickers, non-sport (9/20; 45%)
Look at that - the marvel set is tantalizingly close to being completed. Didn't I just have another nother set to try and close? Regardless, I got through the non-sport, football, and hey, one basketball card! There's still a bunch of hockey to finish processing from this box, but here it is bedtime already.
Shouts to our friendly canadian neighbors from the north, especially Nathan. There's typically something interesting on the other side.
