Here comes William stopping by to help me out on an adventure......
Shouts to ron.
Because of the drama of this week, I fell quite behind on deals. None more delayed than my third deal with Brice.
I was in such a hurry to catch up that I completely forgot any photo of the deal. That might be a first!
There's 55 cards, all HOFers, across sports, leaving the house in this deal. The return should be fun.
The problem with seeing the return packages, is they are piling up, mostly unopened. Life comes at you fast.
As I get to switching gears and pulling as many trades as I can today (not enough time!), I'm pleased to find Erik and his simple request for three cards.
Looks like we have ourselves a t-wolves fan. Because of my nephews (aden + calvin + the lazer), I also PC all of these minnesota cards so these are a few examples of how ideas evolve around here. Once, I would leave these kinds of cards up for trade, while now, I'd never let them into this trade mix. Fluid, not rigid.
Good for Erik. Plus, I think I'm getting a x-mas ornament back for these. Fun!
All the while I battle myself against myself, card sorting continues; today we pick the stack back up by logging some inbound cards.
So much going on in this 43 card trade. Lots of major hits in the areas outside of my normal basketball focus. This silver surfer set is sneaky high on my favorite sets list and I've barely made a dent in it so far. From there: marvel, game of thrones, a brief appearance by f1, and one of my all-time favorite humans sterling sharpe......if I had more time, I'd bend your ear (eyeballs here) with stories for all of it. Only so much time in the day.
Great trade. Well spent hour.
Oh, and we (nikkigirl + me) actually started our day at Scheels for the literal most depressing reason possible. That's nunya bidness tho.
Rest easy folks, while some amongst us are going through the worst of it, I continue to accumulate a box (or three) here or there as part of the best of it. If you have learned nothing from this blog yet, learn this: even within the worst of it, opportunity awaits.
Seize your opportunities.
I didn't sleep well last night so most of my day was sleeping instead of processing trades as planned.
While this trade was started by me to chase some more lee mayberry cards, we inched a couple of other fun PC players numbers a bit higher along the way. Those two dudes could hoop.
As I continued to sort through some lingering work thoughts, I also continued the sorting of FSU football cards.
I'm having a lot of fun remembering some guys from bygone eras while the great re-org continues.
What a glorious logo (patriot here). Brice's trade is shipped.
The trades keep piling up. I should turn them off. There is so much adventure on the other side though!
Almost forgot to snap a photo of these. I'm a bit distracted.
Even still, this third deal with Craig is pretty fun. Imma be moving up the charts after this one! lol
Thank you to my number one rockets correspondent.
Brian stops by next and after a bit of back and forth on his strong offer, and our fourth deal was born.
I got even later in my process before I remembered to snap a picture. I'm a bit distracted.
Solid deal.
Dead simple two card deal being sent to Mark next. Looks like this gets us to a half dozen deals.
A michigan fan gets his wolverines (one at least).
Jean-Francois shows up next asking for the hottest cards in all the land these days.
Pokemon cards are having a moment right now. I don't know much about Pokemon cards beyond that. The kids sure do love 'em though.
My Pokemon for sale / trade box, while small, wasn't very well organized. I took a few moments to make some improvements for the next time.
Anywho, since it's a Canadian trading partner, you probably won't be surprised when you see the return prize. 😉
We'll close the evening with a trade with Stephen.
Always good to see numbers north of 70%. Gives me a little bit of a 🍆 when I see numbers over 90%.
Let's crank out a few trades while we watch the NBA Finals.
Looks like we add Bill to the !
In reviewing where this trade came from, I noted one particularly fun card that inspired me to produce this offer.
Two PWEs with a whole lotta that's gotta get outta this place. Baseball, mostly football, and a tiny bit of racing heading out kids.
Good back and forth while we iterated our way into the third deal between Eric and me.
Small and significant deal.
And here he also is helping me to increase my lead with fsu football cards. My fsu collection is dope.
Helpful partner.
This next deal with Rob was generated by me as part of a mission to climb up the ranks of the individual player charts.
Nice and easy pull too, seven cards, all baseball, same set.
Quick and clean, on to the next.
The next deal out the door won't even leave the state.
Wait, packers going out the door? Well, yeah. I actually don't mind trading away the two douchiest QBs in the team's history all that much.
Basically, any NBA is an upgrade from these turds.
Glad to find this deal with Scott tho. Things could be worse than hooking up a fellow Wisconsinite with the local team.
The next offer that turns into a trade, is with Greg. Deal number seven.
While I almost forgot to snap a photo again, this does do a pretty good job of summing it up: a bit of baseball, basketball, and football heading out the door.
Strong offer, well played.
A few days ago, I thought I found a bug. When I asked the bot to look into it, they informed me the app wasn't working in that area because I missed a manual step. It then automated that manual step for me. The homie was like: it's not a bug, now it's a feature.
Iterate.
As part of this release, a bunch of cards were shuffled around and then consolidated into two boxes (for the most part).
Chipping away at a problem. Tens of thousands of tiny little steps toward a goal.
Today......kinda sorta got back to normal a bit.
Even still, work and life are both a bit of a struggle right now. To the point I might dial back the content here for a bit.
We'll still be doing card work though (that's the back to normal bit). lulz
I finished sorting through my sterling sharpe cards tonight and ended up with this count (I had a few things logged incorrectly):
There's a long standing joke with nikkigirl and I where I joke......Did I ever tell you the time I met sterling sharpe? He was very kind to me when I was 11 or 12 or something.
That's one of those stories better in-person though. Preferably if I have costello with me to play up the joke with me. Hey, theabbott and costello. Quite the duo.
Until tomorrow......
