Sep 19, 2026: rainy dayz
We start the day by jumping right in with the start of today's show, jeff meff. Let's check in on the action at the 2026 Dave Hash Invitational......
The first match, against someone I forget, was a quick 2-0 victory. They fell behind the first set, came storming back to win it, and then walked easy peasy in the 2nd set: 2-0 W.
And there we have the why behind the memorial today. He done did some stuff. Plus take note of those cool shoes. 🫠
In the second match against the Fond Du Lac Cardinals there were a decent batch of controversial calls in the first set as it slipped away, and then in the second set, the bad guys walked away with it pretty easily: 0-2 L.
Match 3 against the Kimberly Papermakers......also wasn't as fun as it could be in a 0-2 loss. They fought. It still wasn't particularly close.
Another one?!?!?!?
Before we get into match 4, I wanted to take a moment to shout out to clark & ethan who between them are the best hitter and the best setter I have ever seen. I'd go to war with both of the crosscourt bois that followed meffster to the Appleton West Terrors squad. Even better stated: they both have helped him from day one. Varsity starter.
That's where we take a quick moment to revisity these shoes of mine today. Shouts to freak and that unkown king.
Oh, and match 4. That one was a dominant 2-0 W.
I can't escape it. I also only have two stock gifs in the repo so we repeat the first one again. You will deal with it just like I had to.
Match 5 was another quick and clean 2-0 victory on our way to a 5th place finish.
I enjoy every second I get to spend with these kids. Both flavors (squads).
I'm running out of time on the day. There's always a tinge of regret that each of these entries isn't just a little bit more. It's all I have to give though - often well into the midnight (like tonight).
In between everything you'll see here today I wrote more with bot boi, but alas, I'm too tired to get into it.
Rest assured that eeeeeeeemma solidified an idea, and that picture with squad tied directly to our good work here. Also? She asked for an improvement to the site that was already there. A little coaching and we have a new blog boi superstar.
That's for tomorrow though.
As I work my way through whatever this adventure is: I make plans, I break plans, and I constantly chase plans. No matter how slow you have to take things, there always seems a need to go even slower. Except, everything around you is moving the opposite direction and speeding up. All of that to say, I'm glad to get back to receiving some trades in because I'm very much behind.
scroll amendment · 2026-09-19As I write these chronicles I often think how nice it would be to have an editor. It is very hard to go from idea to the screen, with short deadlines, and minimal time to debug. Move fast, write like crap. Iterate.
I think this is me saying I often don't feel I'm a good writer. Or maybe more like I am, but the words always escape me. The chase.
Okay, this got way deeper than it should for a cardattack section. Let's pivot back to a what brought us here - hell of a deal with Mike.
