Feb 28, 2026: birthday drive-by
Little bit of wax rippin' clean-up to start off the day. 4 packs of 2025-26 Upper Deck Allure out of a blaster to kick us off:
Of all of the retail hockey that's out there, Allure is one of my favorite brands to buy. The heft, shinyness, and general look and feel of these cards is quite nice.
I've got a general rule, not 100% firm, that I collect the base versions of any cards I purchase, add in any particular PC players (McJesus, Makar, Leon, Celebrini, etc.), whatever other cool things there are, and then I put parrallels of players or teams I don't collect into the for sale section. These are a few examples.
Speaking of leon, here's the keepers of the bunch. Nice ovi to add to the mix. 919 goals and counting for the all-time leader. Crazy longevity.
Finally, I have another rule that if I buy any wax, I only rip a pack or box after I've stored one for later (or forever). Here's the box that holds my unopened hockey:

jeff meff joins the long standing Hodgi tradition of starting his driving lessons in the Wilson Middle School parking lot.
Our adventures in the parking lot were cut short by two people showing up to do their day job or something. How dare they.
Next, up? Part 2 of the tradition. Let's try to not kill people on Harvest Drive. Real roads, rachet up the intensity:

I added a new component called PersonTag that looks something like this:
<PersonTag tag="ron" />Now instead of having to italisize the tags I want to persist across my chronicles, I can use this component and it'll take care of both for me. This also greatly enhances my ability to do cool things with this data as we roll forward.
Besides deploying the new code, I've spent a good chunk of the day ripping through old content to update it with the new standard. I made good progress, but there's still a bunch to do. Back at that tomorrow.
