On day two of the Badger Region Championships we started off with Southport, and after a slowish start, they cruised through each set to victory: 25-16, 25-15 (2-0).
These bois absolutely destroy the ball. We put it on 'em.
jeff meff got quite a bit on run in the early match, and he took advantage of all of his opportunities.
While he's still learning how to line up his body with the strike, he'll go up and get one if he has too. Fun image.
Sam and the ccvbc crew took on Inferno once again, and after inexplicably falling behind 1-8 in the first set, they ran the table for another victory - advancing to the championship game: 25-20, 25-13 (2-0).
I cannot believe they trust this guy with any kind of scorekeeping. He'd be the first to admit that might be a mistake. And yet, we love him all the same. Wait......
......it happened again......
To close the day, our heros took on Club W for all the marbles. Well, spoiler alert, they were Club L today. It was a tight and intense match throughout, and also one that the bois controlled just about the entire time. Champions: 25-22, 25-21 (2-0).
There's coach giving squad the congratulations they so richly deserve. I thought last year's team was fun, but this one is shaping up to be my favorite yet. They genuinely love each other and I love them for it.
We close the tournament with me, the immortal man, and the new icon to be used whenever our heros return victorious, covered in glory.
Ya boi mr. meff played most of the minutes at middle in the first match against Azuri Perforamnce. The team is really coming together, and jeff's performance this morning was the most consistently excellent stretch of volleyball I've ever seen him play.
crosscourt plays unselfishly, within a system, and by utilizing that system so well, it allows for hardworkers like noah to step in and play his role. He played that role well today as they swept Azuri: 25-16, and 25-11 (2-0).
Sorry, I just missed the ignition of thor's hammer + hand. Clark will fuck you up on some hammer of god shit and he did just that in a close one against Inferno: 25-23, and 25-23 (2-0).
Earlier this morning during the first match, I had the chance to chat with a new mom and dad who recently joined Crosscourt Volleyball Club, and seeing how well they played in the second match, it hammered home a point I made to them both (their son is on the 14's team): they play hard, they play for each other, they get better, and they have a hell of a good time doing it.
As a grown child, I am not legally allowed to ignore the 6-7 Gods. See something, say something.
They closed out the 3rd match against Fox Valley Performance: with another win, 25-18, and 25-5 (2-0).
In victory, they celebrate that fun.
On Wednesday ccvbc split two matches against the 18's of FVP in a scrimmage where they played up in competition. Playing against their same age bracket, and the FVP 17's, it was a different story, one where they controlled the pace of play the entire way, and walked away with a comfortable victory.
......oops, happened again.......
To close Saturday, we sit in a good position, controlling our own destiny.
ron is in town for March Madness and as a result I'm leaving work early to go play with my friends. I also have to get up at 4am tomorrow, so we'll see how well behaved I am.
TL;DR: I'm cheating a bit by just adding a small post today that may retroactively change after the fact. That depends, at least in part, on how many prostitues are involved tonight though.
jeff meff returned home covered in glory today. He's been with his mom for two weeks, because, hashtag reasons, and on the way home he helped me push free a lady's car that was stuck in the snow. We were digging the wheels out, pushing, digging the wheels out, pushing, and then a third unnamed super hero showed up to give us the final oomph we needed.
First we attacked the driveway. Reports of between 24 and 27 total inches are beginning to trickle in - depending on where in Appleton you might sit. I can attest, it was at least 2 feet.
Later in the morning, I went at the entrance path to the house. If you count the times the kids went at it, and I went at it, I bet we took a total of 7 or 8 shifts. And that doesn't count the neighbors who showed up to borrow our driveway because they had nowhere to put a car. They also took a crack at the end of the driveway for us.
The plows didn't get to us until today, and let me tell you, they didn't leave a speck of snow in our driveway. I have no idea what magic they used, but fuck if it wasn't appreciated. From one wizard to another, I doff my cap to thee.
nikkigirl read rip biggie smalls out loud to me just now, and we used that time to fix a few typos. If you aren't doing six things at once, what are you even doing bro?
I "should" use AI more for grammar, spelling, and whatever cleanup that could easily happen, but I kinda enjoy the stream of thought of it all. I rarely leave my development tool during my writing process, spelling included. :(failure(: is a feature, not a bug.
As for now, cipher and I have a nice separation of duties.
Outside of Epstein circles, I'm one of the more popular dudes there is when it comes to young children. Humble brag.
On the other side of that coin is the largest child you may ever come across and he will do just about anything to gain nikkigirl's attention. And I mean ANYTHING. It's been that way since 6th grade. She was kind to me before she even knew me.
Plus she had huge boobies. First impressions mean a lot.
I've done some wild stuff to get attention over the years, and it pales in comparison to what I'll do for mah baby. The volume alone is kinda mind blowing to think about.
A friend's dad just had a heart attack (hopefully, okay, as of now). He was offloading the stresses of his life in a group chat for a good hour when he basically live texted the event. Shocking. Sad.
Edmund McMillen is an auteur among game developers. So much of every game he's
made has his heart, soul, and vision poured into. Mewgenics is no exception.
I have barely scratched the surface of this game, the level of depth in its
gameplay has barely revealed itself to me. As an avid player of The Binding of
Isaac I am no stranger to learning a game with great depth, but Mewgenics is a
whole other beast entirely. From the different classes your cats can take on
the alley with, and their respective treasure trove of abilities and perks, to
the breeding mechanics a player like myself can't help but figure out ways to
maximize my cats stats. Each aspect of the game shows a level of care and love
from all its contributors that so many games fall short of these days.
And of course, the game is weird as hell. My mom texted me that dad's cats had
attempted to inbreed, only for one to show no interest. All I could assure her
was that there would be plenty of inbreeding to come. The artstyle is gritty
and unapologetic in its depiction of the world and people. The writing is
funny but sad if you think about it too hard. There's a plethora of references
to internet and pop culture that only the keenest of eyes will catch all of.
And for some reason, Rivers Cuomo is here as the voice of some of the cats.
