It's been a really long day and this hotel is laughably bad. I'll be back tomorrow and fix this page - gotta keep the streak alive, even if it's kinda cheating......
Look at that hammer tho. Sneak peak for the rest of the weekend.
We will close with an oldie, but a goodie of the birthday girl.
Shouts to the little girl(s) in this photo that inspired the gamertag that inspired the domain name of these chronicles. OGs.
It's hard to tell from this photo, but her left hand is rummaging through some pants looking for someone's wallet. She's just been busted as the photo was snapped. lulz
nikkigirl could use a safe space. My troubles are the least of our worries. You think you can bring enough smiles to the world to ward away all the sad, and then life shows you its own wry smile.
We need an extended fern appearance. Shower with love. Love returns.
There is so much pain and suffering around me. I've been acutely aware of it since before I could even articulate it. I have no idea what to do with that information.
I'm in a reflective mood. I never know if I like what I see when I peer inside myself like this.
No matter what happens next, the odds are good it'll have some pragmatism sheen to it. lulz
I went to create today's page to name it lotta nadda......when I realized that page name already exists (shouts to eeeeeeeemma). Time is a flat circle.
I've been battling the sump pump on and off since the massive snowstorm this winter. I have PTSD from previous basement floods and......today was rough.
Anywho, new pump installed. I'm tentatively feeling better at some future as yet determined date and time.
Not a great day today - starting with, I couldn't sleep last night: part early flight anxiety, majority worrying about work. I woke up at 1am and paced the hotel room for a good 15 minutes before I took a chill pill (figurative) before pivoting to playing Final Fantasy X (I suck at blitzball). Of course, I ended up falling asleep 30 minutes before I had to get right back up and head out the door.
The plane of it all got off to a decent enough start. Everything was going just fine right up until we failed to land on the first attempt coming into Chicago. We couldn't have been more than a couple dozen feet from landing when we suddenly started pulling up and taking off again. Something about something (wind or wake), and we'd need to circle around to try again.
While the lady next to me grabbed her rosary and was really going through it, other than the oddity of it, there wasn't all that much turbulance all things considered. That said, it was plenty enough for a gentleman about 10 rows up to start getting sick.
As we circled back, he brought his puke bag to the bathroom and while he looked like a man that wanted to puke some more, he didn't look too bad.
Great news, the pilot landed the plane on the second attempt without issue. Terrible news, the fella who hustled to the back was in really bad shape and needed the paramedics. This news did not go over well with a good chunk of the passengers because we couldn't get off the plane while we waited for the paramedics to show up. They could be there at any time, and dude was in the back of the plane.
Well, we all had tight windows to get to our connecting flights and while it wasn't full on mass hysteria, there were a ton of people losing their shit. Some of whom didn't speak English as their first language - leading them to not follow the direction being given by the flight attendents......and more delay.
For those in the back, that video is where the inspiration for today's chronicle title came from. Wait for it......
As they finally wheeled the dude out, it showed just how serious it was. He did not look good at all. I don't think it was life threatening in any way and I'd also bet you dollars to donuts that he sure as fuck felt like it was in the moment. Personally, I'll eat missing a flight because that ain't nothing compared to one of the worst moments of that man's life.
TL;DR: I made my next flight because, luckily, it was also delayed. Unfortunately, the turbulance on the short flight home from Chicago to Appleton was just enought to bother me after the previous experience and get under my skin a little bit.
Very emotional hour and a half for ya boi.
I may have even whispered something like a prayer.
Today was the first time in my life I saw dozens of signs on a highway warning: Watch out for unexpected pedestrians. Well, at least they aren't super racist about it. lulz
This was the exact moment I realized just how close to the border I was. Shout out to the Mexicans. Honestly, you can have this shit hole of a country. You probably deserve it more than I do.
As Freddy and Rob can attest, I'll dap you up along the way.
I deployed yesterday's blog with a weird block of text in it that led to the chronicle not being recognized. I have no idea how it got there and my sincerest apologies to my #1 fan.
